The beginning of the Russian Lyceum was set in 1999 with the launch of the Russian Ballet School. The successful working process with children of all ages led to the necessity of a licensed school, where the most talented youngsters could receive professional dance training.
Consequently, in 2004, the Private Dance School “Galina Sergeyevna Ulanova” was founded. At first it offered solely “classical dance” training, but since 2007 students can also select “modern dance” as their specialty.
With the years passing the school has managed to develop and improve both its educational and artistic processes. Its students have participated in a number of stage contests and have been deservedly rewarded with various national and international prizes. As a result, the school gained popularity, therefore taking an important place in the educational and cultural environment in Bulgaria.
In 2009 the Kindergarten with extensive early language learning (English and Russian) as well as with additional dance and music training was founded.
At the same time, in the same year, the Elementary School was launched, while in 2010 a Secondary School was added to it, thus enabling students of all ages, from the 1st to 12th grade to receive high-quality education, especially when it comes to studying foreign languages – English and Russian.
Consequently, after successfully finishing 4th grade, students are able to continue their education either in the Language School (if they aim at studying English and Russian) or in the Dance School (if they seek professional training in “classical” or “modern” dance).
In this manner, the creation of the Russian Lyceum –Sofia, where children from age 3 till secondary school graduates can receive specialized training and education was completed.
