The celebration was opened in the Lyceum schoolyard. All the teachers, students and the youngest kids from the kindergarten took part in it. The ceremony started with greeting the flag of the Lyceum. The principal, Mrs Karsakpaeva made a salutation and wished the children future success in their study. Mrs Nina Neikova, a teacher of Bulgarian language and literature, told about the opening and the history of the Lyceum. Students from second and fourth grade recited rhymes about their Lyceum.
After the ceremony teachers and students went to an excursion around Sofia. They went to historical monuments and cultural sightseeings, connected with Bulgarian – Russian relationships and the Liberation. The students from the Lyceum went to the Russian monument, the Doctor’s monument, the monument of the Tsar Osvoboditel, the monument of the Russian army, the cathedral “Alexander Nevski”, the Russian church and the Moscow’s home. The students put a wreath in front of the monument of Alexander Pushkin and recited rhymes, written by him. In the afternoon the celebration continued in the Lyceum with different interesting functions. The students from seventh and eighth grade, az guides showed to the youngest students an exhibition connected with the opening of the Tsarskoselski Lyceum. Some entertaining games, connected with school subjects were organized and the students showed their skills and knowledge. At the end, Mrs Karsakpaeva awarded the winners in the games, giving them diplomas.
